How I Accomplished My Biggest Goal for the Month of August?

Hey guys! So, I just want to scream and shout because I accomplished my biggest goal for the month of August!! Yay! I am ecstatic. At the beginning of the year I set goals for myself, and this summer I was even more specific and listed dates that I wanted to accomplish each goal by. Becauseee…um yea 2017 is flying by and I figured that’d help me to cross off a few more things on my list. A couple of years ago – (on New Year’s) I started writing intentional goals and milestones that I wanted to accomplish in the next 12 months. I soon realized how powerful this was for me. It’s just something about writing things out on paper that just seals the deal. Like, yes this is going to happen. I will make it happen. I also think it’s so rewarding to look back at your goals/resolutions and say WOW I really accomplished what I wanted in a set time frame. It’s a confidence booster and will make you say “I really am that chick” LOL.

A few of my goals for 2016 were to start a blog and move to a new state. I did BOTH and was am so proud because these are things I really wanted to do in life. Writing out your goals holds you accountable. We can have all these thoughts and ideas in our heads, but if we never stop to write out a plan this causes procrastination, or even worse we lose motivation.

In addition to writing out my goals I look at them regularly as a reminder – just in case I forget. Right now one of my main goals for this year is to pay of my credit card. Soooooo about that, I have 4 months to do this. Is it possible? Yes. & I’m speaking it into existence to make sure that it happens. I’ll give you an update after New Year’s to let you know how it goes! lol.  Wanted to also note that throughout the year it’s okay to revamp and change your goals. If you want to narrow your list down, and focus on maybe a few things I think that’s okay. The most important part is to make sure you are making some progress and are growing each year.

Okay, so I write my goals out. This month I’ve also really been speaking things into the universe and praying heavy.  The goal I was actively praying and hoping to meet by this month is to land a new job making a salary of x. I was looking for a less demanding more pay type of job. Not to say I don’t want to be challenged, but I don’t want a job that will negatively impact my mental or physical well-being. I’m also a firm believer in working somewhere where you feel appreciated, liked, and where you have healthy positive relationships with your co-workers. One day I’d like to not job hop, but hey I’m a millennial it’s in my blood.

I’m happy to say that this week I received one two job offers, and the job I accepted is making the exact amount that I listed as my goal to make! I feel sooo blessed and thankful. I’m thankful that I didn’t back down, because we all know how discouraging the job hunt process is. Some weeks I felt so defeated after interviewing and not hearing back, but man oh man resilience and prayer will take you far.

Anyone out there who has goals they want to accomplish before 2017 is over, don’t give up! Re-read your goals, come up with a plan for how to tackle each one, speak it into existence (actually say it out loud), pray and meditate about this, and again pray and meditate about this, and lastly believe in yourself.
