Growing Your Nails Long & Strong – My Nail Care Routine

Hi Guys! So lately I’ve been so amazed by how long and strong my nails are growing, and I thought I’d share my nail care routine.

I LOVE a gel manicure and acrylic full set, but I’ve been trying to cut back on spending money on these services, and I’m also trying to maintain healthy nails.

Going to get your nails done on a regular basis can be very expensive. I’m proud to say that I’ve been able to keep a nice length to my nails despite not going to the nail salon in months. My bank account sure is happy about that too..LOL.

I would say when first trying to grow your nails out, get a gel manicure to help start the process. After about 2 weeks you can take the gel off (if you know how to properly do so), or go to the salon to get it removed. You can then start your at home nail care routine!

Below are some of the great products I use to grow long and strong nails:

Cuticle Cutter, Nail File, Nail Buffer
Left to Right: Cuticle Cutter, Nail File, Nail Buffer. These can all be found at your local beauty store.

A cuticle cutter will help prevent hangnails, and will keep your cuticles looking great! I cut my cuticles about once a week, or when needed.

A nail file helps to prevent your nails from breaking by grinding down and shaping the edges of nails.

A nail buffer is a great way to make sure your nails look smooth and shiny.

Use all of these tools before applying any polish.

Great Nail Care product to grow your nails strong and healthy
This CND Solar Oil Nail and Cuticle conditioner can be found at local stores like Walgreens and Target!

Cuticle Oil is great for keeping your cuticles moisturized, and helps to prevent hangnails! You can apply this as needed; I tend to use 1-2 times a week.

base coat
This base coat can be found at your local Sally‘s!

Using a base coat is a great way to preserve your manicure! I tend to apply just one coat, before putting on my polish color of choice.

Pink Armor Nail Gel
The Pink Armor Nail Gel is keratin rich and protects again breaking, cracking, & splitting. You can find this at your local Wal-Mart!

After applying my nail polish I use a gel top coat. It basically adds the finishing touch to my nails and keeps them shiny. I definitely recommend for a salon quality manicure!

I hope you find these products useful! Any other great products out there? I’d love to hear below!

    1. I typically will wait until they chip really bad and then use warm water, soap, and acetone to soak and then just peel off..not sure if this is the best way! Lol …but it works for me
